About Elliot Dean

I was born in Maidstone and lived there for over 20 years, throughout that time the town changed from its traditional roots as a market town into a ‘London dormitory’ for the many city workers often priced out of accommodation in London. At the age of 24 I moved to Kingston upon Hull where I enjoy cycling, walking and exploring Yorkshire as well as continuing to be a committed Trade Unionist & community campaigner.

I was raised in aElliot-7 hard working family, my mum has worked as a nurse at Maidstone Hospital for over twenty years and continues to do so today. While I was growing up I attended local schools – West Borough Primary School , The Astor of Hever Community school and lastly Mid Kent College Maidstone. Throughout my time studying at college I worked part time as a cleaner in the town centre and I graduated from college with two BTEC National diplomas in ICT and Vehicle Technology.

I then had jobs working in various organisations gaining invaluable life and work experience. During this period I became an activist in the Trade Union movement supporting fellow peers and tackling work place issues.
