Acorn Business Centre goes to Planning Committee

Acorn Business Centre goes to Planning Committee 26/02/2015

I previously wrote about the Acorn Business Centre located just off Milton Street in Fant being under threat from a housing development. Maidstone Labour have called in this application to the planning committee which means members of the committee will be able to approve or refuse the application. The application will be heard by the planning committee on Thursday 26th February in the Town Hall at 6PM. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting to voice their concerns over this application going ahead. Full details of the meeting can be found by clicking here.

If the application for 22 new homes is approved this would mean the businesses who operate from the site would need to find new premises and could lead to many job losses. It would also lead to resultant problems such as parking problems, congestion, lack of amenities space and a deterioration of the local environment. This type of site must be maintained as employment land if Maidstone is to provide high quality jobs for its residents.
