There is a new case officer dealing with the Jubilee Free School planning application.

There is a Planning committee meeting at the town hall on Thursday 26th February 2015 which starts at 6 PM. It was thought this was when the Jubilee Free School application would be heard but it has been put back to the 19th March 2015. 6pm at the Town Hall.

Maidstone Hospital deemed “inadequate”

 

Health inspectors have revealed failings in the NHS trust running Maidstone hospital which has been rated as “inadequate” in some areas and needs to make improvements in the category of being safe. The group behind Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust has been listed overall as “requiring improvement” by the Chief Inspector of Hospitals. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) which inspected the hospital in October found that the trust was “inadequate” for leadership and “requires improvement” to be safe.

Last night the Maidstone Cycling Forum launched with over 20 people attending all with different backgrounds including, cycle touring, race coaches , shops , commuter and pleasure cyclists.  It was fantastic to see a wide range of people coming from all across the Borough of Maidstone. Last night the Planning, Transport and Development Overview & Scrutiny Committee met to discuss all new sites that have been out forward for the Local Plan. Today it has emerged that officers at Maidstone Borough Council are recommending 225 new houses are built on the Fant Farm site. This would see more than double the amount of houses built on the site than any other site in the plan. Fant has already taken a considerable amount of infilling, back garden developments and sub divisions of houses into multi occupant accommodations putting a signification strain on the local infrastructure.
